A. What pathogen causes Pertussis?Pertussis is a respiratory illness that is a very contagious disease caused by a bacteria called Bordetella pertussis. It is more common known as whooping cough. These bacteria release toxins that causes inflammation.

b) How is is transmitted (and/or found)?Pertussis is a very contagious disease spread from person to person. People with this disease usually spread the disease by sneezing while in close contact with people who then breathe the pertussis and get the disease.

c) What are symptomsAfter a week having the bacteria in your body you get the common cold and violent coughs over and over without stop, other pertussis symptoms are runny nose fever,vomit and diarrhea.

d)TreatmentAntibiotics just help to don't spread the bacteria to others if the patient is diagnosticated on time. There is not really a specific treatment for this disease.
